Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of Bogor Agricultural University (Institut Pertanian Bogor) is Indonesia’s top university in agriculture and life sciences. Our vision is becoming the center of excellence in education, research and services in economics and management in achieving Indonesia’s sustainable development and improving social welfare. FEM is an integrated, providing a broad range of education programs – from basic to applied economics and management, and a research-intensive faculty. Our faculty has five undergraduate programs and eight graduate programs which cover the basic and applied economics and management sciences.

The center embrionically developed in 1999 as a working group of regional development planning coordinated by Dr. H. R. Sunsun Saefulhakim and consists of Dr. Ernan Rustiadi, Dr. M. Nur Aidi, Dr. Setia Hadi, Dr. Iskandar Lubis, Drs. Yayat Supriatna and Ir. Dyah Retno Panuju. The goal is to become a center of excellence of regional science, regional planning, regional development and regional information with main focuses on tropical archipelago, developing countries, agriculture and rural areas, which is nationally or internationally renowned.

The Institute of Research and Community Empowerment of IPB (LPPM) was established on 6 November 2003 merging Institute of Research (LP) and Institute of Community Services (LPM). In conducting such activities, LPPM put the main orientation on improving academic excellence and is directed to carry out quality assurance in implementing research and community services. The vision of the institute is to become an international leading and qualified institution in research and community empowerment based on Science, Technology and Art in tropical agriculture.

The Indonesia Regional Science Association, or IRSA, is an association established to actively promote the advancement of research regarding issues of development, particularly regional development, across Indonesia. Formed in 1997, IRSA organizes annual conferences in collaboration with its university partners across Indonesia.
