Academic Writing and Publication for Economic Science Researchers
Brief Description of the Training:
These two-days’ training introduces how to write a clear and concise article that will appeal to a broad audience and gives a comprehensive overview of the editorial and publishing process of an article in economics and development studies, including regional sciences. The training is open to students, young scholars and researchers who are at the beginning to intermediate stage in the development of a research publication. The training starts with the introduction of how to make a great paper where publication fits into the research life cycle. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the course material to a draft paper that has been made or will be made. We will also discuss selected methods of analyses which are progressively used in scientific writing in regional sciences.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand what the essential criteria are for a good paper.
- Ability to utilize reference management tools for academic writing and publication.
- Ability to organize ideas effectively, structure the paper, and publish the paper.
- Understand the editorial and publishing process.
